Scott Ingram: Bully boys

One of worst aspects of the current political zeitgeist is the ascension of bullies into unchecked power. Tough guy Trump and Macho Musk have made the Oval Office into a middle school playground, preying on the weak.

They congratulate themselves for cutting foreign aid “fraud” without any evidence of wrongdoing, and when in fact foreign aid makes up about 1% of the budget budget. They high-five about cutting the federal workforce, ignoring the fact that over the past 50 years, that workforce has shrunk while our population has grown by 68%.

Oh, and the real overspending and fraud? That’s the result of a defense budget that has ballooned due to federal contractors, one of whom is Elon Musk, naturally. Most discouraging of all is the capitulation of the Republican Party, which has no more backbone than a chocolate eclair.

It’s time to call out the bullies. Stop letting them take our lunch money.
