AMHERST – Triangle Street will be closed at Cottage Street all day Thursday to allow the Department of Public Works to install an electrical vault beneath the road.
Beginning at 6 a.m., vehicles will be detoured onto East Pleasant and Pray streets to bypass the construction area. Work will end at 4 p.m.
This is part of the continuing work by the DPW, begun in April, to have all utility lines at the north end of downtown Amherst put below ground.
The project is being paid for through a $1.5 million MassWorks Infrastructure Program grant the town received in October 2014.
