NORTHAMPTON — Northampton police gave the all clear about an hour after a bomb threat was reported at John F. Kennedy Middle School on Monday morning.
City police, Northampton Fire Rescue and the Massachusetts State Police Bomb Squad responded to the school at 100 Bridge Road, “for a report of an automated phone call bomb threat,” at about 10:15 a.m., Captain John Cartledge said in a statement.
Students and staff were evacuated, Cartledge said, followed by a search of the school. No suspicious materials were recovered, and the threat was deemed noncredible, he added.
Classes resumed shortly after 11 a.m., police said, and an investigation into the threat is ongoing.
