After the Pioneer Valley gets through a handful of showers and thunderstorms Friday afternoon, the weekend should be warm and dry, according to the National Weather Service forecast.

Lenore Correia, a meteorologist with the Taunton-based agency, said Friday morning that there is a possibility of stormy weather in Northampton and surrounding communities Friday afternoon, though “nothing severe” is expected as a cold front passes through.

That cold front, Correia said, will eliminate most of the humidity in the region.

“The weekend should be pretty clear, with lower humidity,” Correia said.

The high temperatures Friday, Saturday and Sunday are projected to be in the mid 80s each day, Correia said.
