AMHERST – Installation of an electrical and fiber-optic conduit on Amity Street between the parking lot and the Jones Library is expected to cause traffic delays Monday.
The road will remain open during the work, which is scheduled for 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The conduit is part of work to install a new crosswalk and ramp and resurface a section of the road. Warner Brothers LLC of Sunderland is continuing to do additional trenching, road patching and granite installation.
With the sidewalk on the north side of the road fenced off, patrons to the library should continue to use the side entrance rather than the main entrance, and use the crosswalks at North Pleasant Street or North Prospect Street.
