Florence natives Kristina Ramsden and Abby Baldwin were the deciding factor in Mount Holyoke’s 2-0 field hockey win over Simmons, Wednesday in South Hadley.
Ramsden added an insurance goal, while Baldwin assisted Liz Delorme early in the second half for the Lyons (7-6).
Rhode Island 3, UMass 2 — The Minutemen scored twice in the first 21 minutes, but fell in Kingston, Rhode Island.
Konrad Gorish and DeAndrae Brown each scored. Alec-Michael Petrizzi had an assist and Marvyn Dorchin made four saves for UMass (5-6-2, 1-3-0 Atlantic 10).
Westfield State 3, Elms 2 — Josh Baillargeon (Gateway Regional) had an assist as the Owls (4-4-2) won at home.
Joseph Larkin (Williamsburg/Amherst Regional) had an assist for the Blazers (4-9-0).
Stonehill 3, Merrimack 0 — Kayla Henry had an assist as the Skyhawks (9-4-0, 6-4-0 NE10) won in Easton.
Western New England 3, Smith 1 — Amy Hagen had 18 kills, Kimani Freeman added 28 assists and 10 digs, and Jody Huang chipped in with 17 digs, but the Pioneers fell 25-16, 25-20, 22-25, 25-22.
