Andrea Ayvazian and Michael Klare of Northampton joyfully announce the marriage of their son, Alexander “Sasha” Randall Klare-Ayvazian to Courtney Lynn Castañeda, both of Austin, Texas. Courtney is the daughter of Terri and Chris Castañeda of Sacramento, California. The wedding took place on June 14, 2019 in the Brazilian Room in Tilden Park in Berkeley, California.

Courtney is a cellist, and the orchestra director and general music teacher at the University of Texas Elementary School. She also teaches privately and plays in various bands in Austin. Sasha is a full-time musician, multi-instrumentalist, and performer, teaching private students, leading ensembles, composing music for films and commercials, doing studio work, and leading the Jazz Ensemble at the Texas School for the Blind. Sasha’s music is represented by Another Victory Publishing, Chicago.

Sasha and Courtney met as graduate students in the Music and Human Learning Program at the University of Texas, Austin. Together they make up half of American Dreamer, a band that plays throughout Texas and tours nationally in the summers. The wedding was officiated by Sasha’s mother, the Rev. Dr. Andrea Ayvazian. Five years ago, when Sasha’s parents, Andrea and Michael, were (finally) married, Sasha got a one-day license and performed his parents’ wedding ceremony. Having Andrea perform Sasha’s wedding brought the family wedding ceremonies full circle.
