NORTHAMPTON — The deadline for local high school seniors and undergraduates to apply for a Northampton Dollars for Scholars scholarship is March 15.
All students who live in Northampton, Florence or Leeds are eligible regardless of the high school they attend.
Northampton Dollars for Scholars is celebrating 50 years. This year’s awards ceremony, scheduled for May 13, at 7 p.m. at Northampton High School, is open to the public. Last year more than $150,000 was awarded to nearly 200 students.
Applications are available at northampton.dollarsforscholars.org.
To donate to support students continuing their education, use the envelope included in your Northampton Census mailing or go to the website.
NORTHAMPTON — Western Mass CodePink will hold its 20th annual celebration of International Women’s Day on Saturday, from 2-4 p.m., at Northampton Friends Meeting, at 43 Center St., in Northampton. The event is free and open to the public.
This year’s celebration is intended to raise up the voices of Indigenous and immigrant women. Experiences and stories that women share are an important way to understand each other, build bridges across divides and help each other through difficult times.
Three speakers — Liz Coldwind Santana Kiser, Gloria Caballero and Marie Laroche — will share their stories, followed by a discussion. Musicians who will perform the Offbeat Womyn Drummers, Greenfield folk singer-songwriter Annie Hassett, and the Raging Grannies.

HOLYOKE — The Greater Holyoke YMCA will hold its first Women’s Leadership Panel in honor of Women’s History Month. The event will take place on Thursday, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Holyoke YMCA, 171 Pine St.
The Women’s Leadership Panel aims to celebrate the achievements of women leaders in the community, explore the challenges they’ve faced, and gain insights into their unique journeys. The event will also highlight the launch of the new women-focused employee resource group at the YMCA.
The panel will feature a group of leaders, including Melissa Kulig Crow, Lt. Maria Pelchar, Pat Spradley, and City Council President Tessa Murphy Romboletti. Each panelist will share their personal experiences, the impact of their leadership, and how they are shaping the future for the next generation.
HOLYOKE — Financial planner John Foley, of Baystate Financial, will lead a retirement planning workshop at the Holyoke Public Library’s Community Room on Thursday at 6 p.m. The library is located at 250 Chestnut St.
During the session, Foley will cover key topics that every individual should understand when planning for retirement, including: retirement risks, Social Security and estate planning.
