As a resident of Ward 3 for a dozen years, I have had a number of City Council representatives and frequently watch the Thursday evening proceedings. In all of that time I have rarely met a public servant as dedicated to her constituents as Councilor Quaverly Rothenberg.
Firstly for her indefatigable work on behalf of our community’s children. Education is a sacred obligation and in many ways a time-sensitive project. You simply can’t keep putting off the help kids need and expect a good outcome. And in this regard the behavior of the mayor and a number of the councilors is nothing short of deplorable.
Secondly, for Quaverly’s advocacy for improving our very dangerous sidewalks and streets. As someone who must frequently use a wheelchair at this stage of my life, I often have to ride in the road and contend with potholes and traffic due to the impassable state of the crumbling sidewalks.
And yet it’s Councilor Rothenberg who was censured last week by a cabal of clowns for the crime of outstanding public service.
