’Twas the fifth day before Christmas when a notice was delivered to each and every home of the Hadley Housing Authority, home to 40 elderly and disabled people. Lights were blinking it must be the season!
But bad news was on its way, it wasn’t St. Nick but a nasty creature without any care. The children were enjoying their sparkling Christmas lights, while mama and papa were dancing. when what to my wondering eyes did appear but the housing elves with evil in their eyes. I knew in a moment it must be more bad news!
More rapid than eagles their evils did show with another notice being placed on each and every door. Now dash away dash away we all called but to no one’s surprise they continued with the evil notices.
Now dash away, dash away every tenant called, but to no one’s surprise they continued with the nasty notice. As I drew in my head and was turning around, I read the news of the delivered one. With a wink of my eyes and a twist of my head I read the news “All Christmas lights must be removed by Dec 26!”
What? Some tenants had already spent money, time and a Christmas spirit to install their cheer in an otherwise dreary, dismal, difficult elderly community known as Golden Court in Hadley which is now managed by the Amherst Housing Authority.
