High schools: Hampshire Regional earns track sweep over Easthampton (PHOTOS)

Rylee Joseph took first place in both the long jump (14 feet, 2.25 inches) and triple jump (29-11.5), and Kat Simmons won the javelin (72-11) and the shot put (25-6) to lift the Hampshire Regional girls’ track and field team to a 77-41 win over Easthampton on Wednesday at the Mountain View School in Easthampton.
Also placing first for the Raiders was Ava Gaida in the 100-meter hurdles (17.5) and Maggie Lashway in the mile (6:08.1).
Peyton Ulrick won the 200 dash for the Eagles (28.8).
Hampshire 89, Easthampton 55 – Jabari Sifrin took two first place finishes for the Eagles in the shot put (36-5.25) and the javelin (130-5), but it wasn’t enough for Easthampton against Hampshire.
Ayden St. Martin won the long jump for the Raiders (18-3), Jaiden Kudelka won the triple jump (39-5.25), Nate Godden won the 110 hurdles (19.5) and Gavin DaFonte won the mile for Hampshire (5:12).
Easthampton’s BB Tauscher also won the 200 dash (23.6).
Belchertown 23, Ludlow 3 (5) –The Orioles scored a combined 19 runs over the fourth and fifth innings in an offensive explosion against Ludlow.
Ian McDonald had three hits and five RBIs and Aiden Torna finished with two hits, two runs and three RBIs. Brady Perkins (three runs, two hits), Tyler McDonald (two runs, two RBIs) and Josh Misiaszek (two hits, two RBIs) also contributed to the win.

Perkins threw all five innings, striking out five and allowing four hits in the win.
Greenfield 6, Easthampton 0 – Jake Kostek had two hits for the Eagles in a loss to Greenfield.
Kostek, Christopher Gallagher and Ethan Mullaly loaded the bases in the bottom of the seventh, but couldn’t bring anyone home to break the shutout.
Agawam 5, Amherst 4 — The Hurricanes led 4-2 entering the bottom of the seventh, but host Agawam scored three times to walk off with a 5-4 victory on Wednesday.
Aryeh Rubenstein doubled and singled with an RBI for Amherst, which received six strong innings from Chuck May (three strikeouts).
Neil Cunniffe reached base four times with two hits and stole five bases.
Amherst 15, Renaissance 0 – Sofia Holden threw another no-hitter in a shutout win over Renaissance, keeping the ‘Canes undefeated with a 9-0 record.
Holden struck out 11 batters and walked one in five innings in the circle. She also recorded two hits, two runs and three RBIs.
Grace Johnson had two hits, two runs and two RBIs, Maria Konieczny went 3-for-4 and had one RBI, and Rianna Shaw had two hits, two runs and two RBIs.
Monson 16, Belchertown 1 (5) – Natalie Rose had two hits and scored the team’s lone run in a loss on Wednesday afternoon.
Lauren Cote had the team’s other hit and also posted an RBI.
Franklin Tech 13, Smith Academy 1 – Emma Tisdell scored the lone run for the Falcons in a loss that moved the team’s record to 1-10.
St. Marys (Westfield) 8, Gateway 4 — Willow Hicks had two hits for the Gators in Wednesday’s loss.
Alexi Bonenfant and Olivia Kanner also had hits for Gateway.
Granby 12, St. Mary’s 4 – Connor McDonnell and Kamdyn Lopez scored four goals each in Granby’s win over the Saints.
Mike Arabic added a goal and three assists for the Rams, and Riley Goodhind tallied once and dished out four assists.
Lee 10, Hampshire 6 – Sam Moran netted a hat trick and Ryleigh Fennessy, Anna Puttick and Reese O’Connell also scored in a tight loss to Lee.
Hampshire goalie Abby Hennessy made eight saves in net.
Longmeadow 3, Northampton 2 — The first doubles tandem of Aidan and Ethan Metz scored a 6-1, 6-3 victory to pace the Blue Devils, which suffered their first loss of the season in a tight defeat to Longmeadow on Wednesday.
Northampton (6-1) also received a victory at No. 3 singles, where Durrell Patrick was a 6-3, 6-3 winner.
