WORTHINGTON — Voters reelected Charley Rose to his fourth term on the Select Board and approved the budget and other articles on the warrant at Town Meeting Saturday, according to information on the town website.

Rose received 196 votes, while challenger Gabriel Unger ran close with 172. Turnout was solid , with 371 or 37% voting out of an electorate of 993.

Voters approved budget articles including approximately $1.5 million in elementary and secondary school spending, $652,842 for the highway department, $544,203 for general government, $318,519 for vocational education, $218,609 for public health and safety, and $191,503 for police.

Two special articles amending the zoning bylaw also passed. One removed a number of specified uses that require a special permit from the Zoning Board of Appeals and added the umbrella term “outdoor recreation.” The other article provides a detailed definition of outdoor recreation.
