Youth basketball: Joshua Cole, Northampton B punch Suburban League title-game ticket

Behind another double-double from Joshua Cole, the Northampton B boys basketball team punched a ticket to the Suburban League grades 7 and 8 title game over the weekend.

Cole scored 18 points, pulled down 10 rebounds, recorded eight steals and three assists to power Northampton to a 69-38 victory over Tantasqua in the semifinal round.

’Hamp, which improved to 17-0 on the season, will play in the title game on Saturday at Belchertown High School (1:30 p.m.).

Tege Madera joined Cole in double figures with 10 points and added four rebounds, while Mason Tait went for nine points, three rebounds and three steals. Other key contributors included Jahir Sanchez (8 points, 6 steals), Roan Steed (6 points, 5 steals), William Brady (5 points, 2 rebounds) and Sammy Shashoua (5 points, 1 steal).
