High schools: Ella Laliberte, Granby girls lacrosse team beat Wahconah for 7th victory

Ella Laliberte continued her offensive tear, burying seven more goals as the Granby girls lacrosse team pulled away in the second half for a 15-9 win over Wahconah on Monday.
Granby, which led 9-6 at halftime, improved to 7-3 with the victory. Kelly-Lynne Kennedy went for four goals and two assists in the win, and Ava-Elizabeth Loughman added two goals and two helpers. Mylin Laliberte and Kalli White rounded out the scorers, and goalie Faith Ramos made three saves.
Pope Francis 16, Belchertown 9 – Sam Pacunas scored four goals with two assists, but the Orioles fell on the road.
Belchertown’s Paige Magner posted a hat trick with three assists, and Adrien Wise put away two goals. Ariana Cruz added an assist.
Agawam 14, Northampton 2 – Jack Carpenter and Jackson Lockett each netted a goal for the Blue Devils in a loss to Agawam on Monday. The Blue Devils fell to 1-7 on the season.
Wahconah 19, South Hadley 10 – Four Tigers put away two goals each: Owen Dawson, Charlie Anischik, Ethan Roy and Sly Curio.
Pioneer 13, Smith Academy 2 (6) – The visiting Panthers scored six runs in the top of the second inning and pulled away for a run-ruled win on Monday in Hatfield.
Cam Graves reached base twice and scored a run for the Falcons, while Griffin Smiarowski also scored. Ryan Belina, Griffin Goldman (RBI) and Robert Slysz added singles, and Harry LaFlamme drove in a run.

Northampton 5, Minnechaug 0 – Reilly Fowles paced the Blue Devils with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles.
Northampton also received singles wins from Max Cahillane (No. 2, 6-1, 6-1) and Durrell Patrick (No. 3, 6-1, 6-3).
Aidan and Ethan Metz won for the Devils at No. 1 doubles (6-0, 6-2), and the second doubles pairing of Reed O’Connor and Maitreya Abend took a 6-1, 6-1 win.
Frontier 4, Turners Falls 1 — The Redhawks swept both doubles matches and came out on top in No. 2 and No. 3 singles to walk away with a 4-1 victory over the host Thunder. The win improved Frontier to 7-1 on the season.
The best match of the day came between Turners’ Mike Boyle and Redhawk Miles Keefe in No. 1 singles. Boyle won the opening set, 6-3, but fell behind 5-1 in the second set. Boyle rallied to win the next four points to knot things up and ultimately won the set 7-5 to earn the lone Thunder victory on the day.
It was all Frontier otherwise. Redhawk Caiden Manning picked up a 6-2, 6-3 win in No. 2 singles while Ben Desmond was a 6-0, 6-0 winner in No. 3 singles. In No. 1 doubles the Frontier pairing of Matt Sibley and Brayden Reipold walked away with a 6-0, 6-0 win and in No. 2 doubles, River Rodrigues and Liam Ellis earned a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Max Briere and Edward Walsh.
Belchertown 3, Springfield Central 2 – The Orioles swept the doubles matches to earn the tight victory.
At first doubles, Jake Gormely and Camryn Kaczowka were 6-2, 6-1 winners, and the Belchertown No. 2 doubles team of Luke Dudek and Tyler Burrows notched a 6-2, 6-0 win.
Trevor Weiss continued his strong play at first singles, where he captured a 6-3, 6-1 victory.
Belchertown 4, Northampton 1 – Kasey Gibbons and Anna Stamp held on at first doubles in a third-set super-tiebreaker for the Orioles in a victory over Northampton. Gibbons and Stamp were 6-4, 4-6, 10-6 winners.
Alena Karabetsos and Amanda Murray won at second doubles for Belchertown, 6-0, 6-3, to complete the doubles sweep.
Belchertown’s Ava Shea set the table with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles, and teammate Amber Drummond won a 6-2, 6-1 match at second singles.
Northampton received its lone point at third singles, where Summer Sorensen snagged a 6-2, 6-4 victory.
East Longmeadow 100, Amherst 44 – Four Hurricanes athletes took first place in their events during Amherst’s dual meet against East Longmeadow.
Elizabeth Sawicki won the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:09.0, Bevin Montgomery-Gehrt took first in the two mile (13:48.6), Tamar Byl-Brann won the 800 meter (2:27.3) and Brooklyn Court jumped 14-10 to win the long jump.
Putnam 3, Belchertown 0 – Connor White registered six kills and five blocks for the Orioles in a 25-19, 25-16, 25-23 loss on Monday.
Ty Bogdanovich also put down six kills for Belchertown, with Rainer Kristensen dishing out 16 assists.
Drew Renzella drove in a pair of runs for the Williston Northampton School baseball team in an 11-4 loss to Salisbury over the weekend.
James Elliott (Leeds), Colin Larson (Easthampton), and Nolan Puglisi each had a single and a run scored for the Wildcats.
■ Elsewhere, the Williston ultimate team captured the Middletown Invite championship thanks to a 4-0 weekend with victories over Middletown, Bronx Science, Fieldston and Xavier.
Alex Hall-Witt threw 22 goals on the day, Weston Reardon caught 17, and Perry Gaudreau threw nine and caught seven for the Cats.
